China Open 2026: Gea and Halys through the first round

Gea backs up his US Open run
The breakout story of the US Open, Arthur Gea kept it going in Beijing. On Wednesday he beat China's Zhizhen Zhang 6-4, 6-3. A solid straight-sets win that extends a strong end to his season.
Halys focused against Buse
On Thursday, Quentin Halys beat Peru's Ignacio Buse 6-1, 7-6(3). After racing through the first set, the Frenchman had to raise his level in the second before pulling away in the tie-break.
Hurkacz next for Gea
