The semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters 1000 were played on Saturday. They set up a final between Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Rafael Jodar.

A set down, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina came back against Alexander Zverev to win 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. After beating Hubert Hurkacz in the round of 16 and Arthur Gea in the quarter-finals, he keeps defying the predictions.

Jodar in control against Medvedev

In the other semi-final, Rafael Jodar beat Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 6-4. He had already knocked out Botic van de Zandschulp in the round of 16 and Casper Ruud in the quarter-finals.
